At Winner-Net, we know exactly what we want our customers to achieve. Here's just one example of where our vision can take you. Enjoy this story of a winner-net powered rep, and imagine you, or one of your reps, in their shoes. It can happen today.
Twenty to nine. First thing in the morning and my hottest prospect's just called. The meeting for late this afternoon needs to come forward to lunchtime. And potentially great news. It's because their Big Boss wants to attend! I'm happy to shift my day around for such an opportunity. The only problem is, I'm just about to go into my first call, and when I come out, I know my sales manager and VP sales will be unavailable. One in with a customer, the other in a Board meeting... ...what a good start to the day. Kept the account on track nicely with a decent follow-on order from my first call. Now, I've got ten minutes before I have to start driving to The Big One. As I fire up my laptop, I remembered the bad old days, not all that long ago, when effective call preparation just did not happen. We were lucky if we chatted on the phone whilst driving along for five minutes! Today could be a cracker. As our winner-net home page comes up, the radio yells England take another wicket to have the Aussies on the ropes before lunch on the second day of the Test. The Ashes are in the bag again, surely! Right. First things first. I'm immediately hit with our latest product launch. This could be dynamite, as I reckon my Hot-to-Trot Boys would love it. I click through and see the best way to pitch it. Simple feature-advantage-benefit stuff, and there's also a great picture of what to draw on a sheet of paper to get the point across. After 60 seconds, I know I can scribble it out when needed later. Now. I'm up against our most hated competitor here. We must have beaten them on a deal recently. So flicking through our Competitive Intelligence Portal, I gather a list of wins, why we won them, and the messages I should impress upon my prospect. That's interesting. Because it also tells me they'll be trying to hammer home their perceived strength of delivery advantage. Right. I need to be ready for this objection. I face it only rarely. Straight away in our Objections Bank, I click on a video of my sales manager. What a winner he really is - he's tremendous at handling objections! I choose the role play he did with Mike from my neighbouring patch. After watching the succinct clip twice, I'm confident I can pull that one off, no problem. Another thing that occurs to me, is that I'm unfamiliar with selling into this particular industry. Luckily, I'm just a couple of clicks away from finding customers we have similar to my prospect. Some of their metrics are awesome. We clearly save people bundles of cash in this segment. And there are some belting blue-chip names to rattle off too. If only someone has already put together a special presentation slide or something on our close links with my prospect's sector... ...a quick flick through our Expert Programme and I see Sally in London is the market specialist. And what a result. Just the kind of thing I'm looking for. Why we fit the market so well, our successes in it, and what our customers say! I download it right away. Which reminds me. When I took my earlier order (lovely!) they mentioned that they like the fact we are so on the ball, we know what they should be ordering, even before they do! I nip into the Winning News page and share that little nugget of experience straight away. Whilst tapping in my couple of sentences there, I notice Elizabeth, our popular and charismatic Head of Customer Services, will be on-line, taking her place on the rosta for live video links at the same time as my Big Meeting. If their Head Honcho comes up with the kind of technical and difficult questions that reputation suggests, then they can be handled directly by Lizzie. And she's really good in front of prospects too! One final thing before I shut down. Better download the latest order forms and contracts. I've given myself a fantastic chance of closing this one now! And as I start the engine, we've taken yet another wicket! The Aussie's are collapsing! A truly wonderful day... |
